Paint in the impressionist style like Édouard Manet.
Édouard Manet was born in Paris, France in the year 1832 and as a young boy, his uncle encouraged him to pursue painting and took Manet to the Louvre Museum in Paris for inspiration. He was part of the movement away from realist art to impressionism. In the 1870s he began to meet every Thursday with other impressionist artists: Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, Auguste Renoir, and many others to discuss artistic ideas. The group became known as “Manet’s Gang.”
With this kit students can make a rainy day & a cloudy day background for their spring tulips. The question is: which one will you do first? Using oil pastels and a resist technique to create beautiful spring tulips with rain or you can create clouds in the sky using a special technique.
Inside this kit, you will find enough supplies to do two paintings:
- 2 sheets 22.9 x30.5 cm (9x12 in) Watercolour Paper (this paper is slightly smaller than the paper used in our regular classes in order to facilitate safe delivery)
- 7 Oil pastels - orange, red, yellow, fuchsia, dark green, light green and white
- Blue watercolour
- Black acrylic paint
